Thanks to the inventory shortage, fierce competition, and a somewhat volatile stock market, the real estate industry experienced some pretty intense highs and lows in 2018.

But for homeowners, the year definitely ended on a high note.

According to data from Zillow, the US Median Home Value in December 2018 was $223,900—up an impressive 7.6% from December 2017.
